Answer: Mr. John D. Taylor: To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many meetings of the Anglo-Irish Intergovernmental Council were held in 1997. [33592] Marjorie Mowlam: Three: on 7 February, 8 May and 14 November. These were meetings of the Education and Culture Sub-Committee. There were also 3 meetings of the Anglo-Irish Intergovernmental Conference. The Anglo-Irish Intergovernmental Conference was established under the framework of the Anglo-Irish Intergovernmental Council.
