Dr. Marek: To ask the President of the Board of Trade, pursuant to her answer of 6 March 1998, Official Report, column 808, for what reason the visit to Mauritius by one of her junior ministers has been cancelled. [34187] Mrs. Roche: I was planning to visit Mauritius in April. Unfortunately an ACP/EU Parliamentary meeting was re-scheduled which coincided with the dates of this visit. Given that the Mauritian authorities would inevitably be fully engaged in hosting this important meeting which will be attended by my hon. Friend the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for International Development, it was decided that it was best to postpone my visit. I hope to be able to visit at a later date.
