To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, what assessment he has made of recent reports of meetings between representatives of the governments of Iran and Iraq.

Mr. Dalyell: To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what assessment he has made of recent reports of meetings between representatives of the Governments of Iran and Iraq. [29868] Mr. Fatchett: I have read them with interest. The Iranians have more reason than most to appreciate the threat which Iraq poses to its neighbours.
