Question: To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, when he expects to announce the outcome of the inter-departmental review of the way in which vulnerable and intimidated witnesses are treated by the Criminal Justice Court with particular reference to the cross-examination of victims of rape by unrepresented defendants.

Answer: Mr. Kidney: To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department when he expects to announce the outcome of the inter-departmental review of the way in which vulnerable and intimidated witnesses are treated by the Criminal Justice Court with particular reference to the cross-examination of victims of rape by unrepresented defendants. [26082] Mr. Michael: We hope that the review will be completed shortly and a final report submitted to Ministers in the spring. We will consider the report as quickly as possible thereafter.
