Mr. Laurence Robertson: To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what plans he has to review the workings of the Data Protection Act 1984; and if he will make a statement. [25327] Mr. George Howarth: A Data Protection Bill to give effect to the 1995 European Communities Data Protection Directive (95/46/EC) was introduced in the House of Lords on 14 January. This Bill repeals and replaces the Data Protection Act 1984.
