Mr. Gordon Prentice: To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, pursuant to his answer of 18 December, Official Report, column 255, what are the rules which determine when a licence to research and trial the medical use of cannabis will lapse. [23149] Mr. George Howarth: Research licences are valid for three years in accordance with administrative policy; they may be extended as necessary.
