Mr. Clappison: To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what estimate he has made of the number of 15 and 16-year-olds on remand who will be held in prison service accommodation over (a) the next five years and (b) the next 10 years. [22700] Ms Quin: No projection is made of the numbers of 15 and 16-year-old remand prisoners in the years ahead. However, the Government would expect that their policies to reform the youth justice system will have a positive effect in reducing these numbers.
