Angela Smith: To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport what support his Department provides for netball in Essex. [91358] Mr. Banks: This year, Sport England will provide the All England Netball Association with over £420,000 to promote netball in all parts of the country, including Essex. Some of this funding will be used to employ a team of seven development officers, one of whom is responsible for Essex. Essex Local Authorities are planning to run a netball event as part of the Millennium Youth Games next year with the support of lottery funding.
