Question: To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, what steps he is taking to increase investment in the railway system outside the Belfast to Dublin line. - Including figures.

Answer: Mr. Robert McCartney: To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what steps he is taking to increase investment in the railway system outside the Belfast to Dublin line. [99280] Mr. George Howarth: Work has recently commenced on the reinstatement of the Antrim Bleach Green line at a cost of approximately £17 million. In addition, work on a new Bangor Interchange Centre is in progress at a cost of £4.2 million. The Department of the Environment for Northern Ireland has also examined opportunities for a Public Private Partnership (PPP) to meet future investment needs. It is expected that an announcement on the way forward will be made in the near future.
