Question: To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry, what representations he has received regarding the exclusion of Netherfield within the Gedling Borough Council area from the Objective 2 map for European funding; and if he will make a statement.

Answer: Mr. Coaker: To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what representations he has received regarding the exclusion of Netherfield within the Gedling Borough Council area from the Objective 2 map for European funding; and if he will make a statement. [97869] Mr. Byers: My Department has received five representations regarding the exclusion of Netherfield within the Gedling Borough Council area from the proposals submitted to the European Commission for the new Objective 2 areas for 2000-06. Two of the representations were from my hon. Friend, who has also raised the issue with me personally. We are considering the points raised.
