Question
To ask Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer, what consultations his Department has had with (a) the Treasury and (b) software providers regarding the availability of software packages to accommodate carry-forward and carry-back for the purpose of completing tax returns.
Answer

Mr. Swayne: To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what consultations his Department has had with (a) the Treasury and (b) software providers regarding the availability of software packages to accommodate carry- forward and carry-back for the purpose of completing tax returns. [96894] Mr. Rooker: I have been asked to reply. This Department works closely with the Inland Revenue and the Treasury in taking forward the proposals in Stakeholder Pension Consultation Brief 6, including the proposal to remove the carry forward and carry back facility. The Department has not had separate discussions with software providers on this issue. However, software providers have had the opportunity to respond to the public consultation and we are now considering all the responses.
