- To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions, when he plans to publish the regulations to bring into effect the provisions of the Private Hire Vehicles (Control) Act 1998.

Mr. Dismore: To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions when he plans to publish the regulations to bring into effect the provisions of the Private Hire Vehicles (Control) Act 1998. [94404] Mr. Hill: During the summer we conducted jointly with the Public Carriage Office a consultation on proposals for regulating private hire vehicle operators in London. We are considering the responses, with the aim of publishing draft regulations as soon as possible. Further consultations will follow on proposals for regulating private hire drivers and vehicles.
