To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, if he will make a statement about the preparedness of other countries to deal with the millennium bug. - Including fact that statements have been placed in the Library (Dep 99/1748) and information publicly available on the FCO website at http://www.fco.gov.uk.

Mr. Eric Clarke: To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement about the preparedness of other countries to deal with the millennium bug. [94878] Mr. Battle: The Foreign and Commonwealth Office has been actively gathering information about the preparedness of other countries to deal with the millennium bug. This information is being made publicly available on the FCO website at http://www.fco.gov.uk. So far, we have published information on 70 countries and these are continuously updated. More will follow soon. Copies of these statements have been placed in the Libraries of the House.
