Question: To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security, pursuant to his Answer of 4th March 1999, 326 c882W, on disabled people, when he expects to take a decision on the need for a take-up campaign for disability benefits.

Answer: Mr. Wigley: To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security, pursuant to his answer of 4 March 1999, Official Report, column 882, on disabled people, when he expects to take a decision on the need for a take-up campaign for disability benefits. [89378] Mr. Bayley: We have no plans for a take-up campaign at the present time. However, the potential take-up of benefits is increased through greater public confidence about decisions on entitlement, and we continue to work with disability organisations to improve the administration of Disability Living Allowance and Attendance Allowance, and to ensure that decisions about entitlement are right at the outset and are kept correct.
