Mr. Dafis: To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what representations he has received on restructuring the Welsh Joint Education Committee; and if he will make a statement. [69707] Mr. Hain: In addition to a meeting with WJEC representatives on 13 May 1998, my right hon. Friend has received a small number of letters on this matter. We have the highest regard for the work of the WJEC. The qualifications it offers have an enviable reputation built on high standards maintained over many years. I expect that the WJEC will continue to make an important contribution towards raising educational standards in Wales.
