Question
To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions, what plans he has for departmental (a) White and (b) Green Papers to be made available on floppy disk format in a form which facilitates access for the visually impaired.
Answer

Mr. Michael J. Foster: To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions what plans he has for departmental (a) White and (b) Green Papers to be made available on floppy disk format in a form which facilitates access for the visually impaired. [67852] Mr. Meale: The Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions currently publishes all White and Green Papers in HTML format on its Internet site. This ensures easy access by systems such as "screen readers, text-to-speech and text to Braille converters" making documents more accessible to the visually impaired. Where appropriate, publications are also made available on audio tape, in large print, Braille or on floppy disk.
