Answer

Mr. Chope: To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Employment if he will place in the Library a copy of the guidance issued to Learning and Skills Councils on arrangements for 16 to 19-year-olds for 2001-02. [140914] Mr. Wicks: My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State published his Remit Letter for the Learning and Skills Council on 9 November. This set out the Government's key priorities for the first three years of the Council's operation, including maximising the levels of participation and attainment for 16 to 19-year-olds. Copies have been placed in the Library. My right hon. Friend will also be issuing his first Annual Grant Letter to the Council shortly, and this will include key objectives for young people's learning for 2001-02. Copies of this letter will also be placed in the Library.
