Question
To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, when he will receive from the Environment Agency the report into flood defence for the City of Hereford from W S Atkins; and if he will make a statement.
Answer

Mr. Keetch: To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food when he will receive from the Environment Agency the report into flood defence for the City of Hereford from W. S. Atkins; and if he will make a statement. [140351] Mr. Morley: I understand that the Environment Agency has commissioned a feasibility report on flood defences in the City of Hereford, and that the consultants are expected to complete the report by January 2001. The Agency will then consider the findings and decide on the promotion of any necessary works. It will be for the Agency to decide on the timing of any submission to the Ministry for grant aid.
