To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, if it is in the United Kingdom's national interest to relinquish the veto on proposals relating to social security at the forthcoming IGC.

Mr. Gill: To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if it is in the United Kingdom's national interest to relinquish the veto on proposals relating to social security at the forthcoming IGC. [137585] Mr. Vaz: The Government have made it clear on numerous occasions that it will not relinquish the veto on social security.
