Question: To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, if the investigation into leaks from the SIRENE Bureaux in 1997 has identified the (a) source of the leaks and (b) recipient; and if he will make a statement.

Answer: Mr. Bercow: To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if the investigation into leaks from the SIRENE bureaux in 1997 has identified the (a) source of the leaks and (b) recipient; and if he will make a statement. [136468] Mrs. Roche: The particular circumstances of this breach of security are a matter for the Belgian authorities, whose investigations are continuing. The Government attach the highest importance to the maintenance of the security arrangements at the SIRENE bureaux. The integrity of the arrangements is vital to international judicial and law enforcement co-operation.
