Mr. Gill: To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food under what legal authority the scallop licensing system is being introduced. [84175] Mr. Morley: The licensing arrangements for scallop dredging, which came into operation on 19 April 1999, were introduced under the provisions of section 4 of the Sea Fish (Conservation) Act 1967 (1967 c.84) (as amended).
