- To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland, what steps Scottish Natural Heritage has taken to prevent the illegal removal of important fossils from sites of special scientific interest in Scotland; and if he will make a statement. - Including fact that Scottish Natural Heritage is developing a site safeguard plan which will be published shortly.

Mr. Dalyell: To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what steps Scottish Natural Heritage has taken to prevent the illegal removal of important fossils from sites of special scientific interest in Scotland; and if he will make a statement. [76938] Mr. Macdonald: Scottish Natural Heritage is developing a site safeguard plan which will be published shortly. As from 1 July 1999, this will be a matter for the Scottish Parliament.
