Clearance projects account for the major part of this programme. DFID's progress report on humanitarian mine action for 1998 and its future plans will be published on 1 March, marking the passing into international law of the Convention on the Prohibition of the Use, Stockpiling, Production and Transfer of Anti-personnel Landmines and on their Destruction.
