Question: To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, Local Government and the Regions, what discussions he has had with Central Trains about providing an improved service between Grantham and Skegness.

Answer: Mr. Simmonds: To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, Local Government and the Regions what discussions he has had with Central Trains about providing an improved service between Grantham and Skegness. [13493] Mr. Jamieson: We are aware of the desire to improve this service. The Rail Passenger Partnership fund administered by the SRA would be a possible source of support for an increased local service. Bids can be made individually or by consortia which could include the train operator and local authority.
