- To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry, how many cheque shops (a) are and (b) were in each of the past 10 years licensed in the United Kingdom; how many cheque shop licenses have been withdrawn in each of the past 10 years. - The Director General of Fair Trading does not hold records in the form specified and this information could be provided only at disproportionate cost.
