Answer

Dr. Cable: To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport how many meetings Ministers attended with Manpower to discuss the Millennium Dome. [160657] Janet Anderson: [holding answer 9 May 2001]: According to my Department's records, neither I nor my Ministers have attended meetings with Manpower to discuss the millennium dome. My right hon. Friend, the Member for Hartlepool (Mr. Mandelson), the Minister without Portfolio, held one meeting with Manpower in April 1998. His successor as shareholder, Lord Falconer, met Manpower in June 1999 and January 2000. It was normal practice for the shareholder to be kept informed of progress on issues surrounding the Millennium Experience, including progress on the zones in which the sponsors had an interest.
