Mr. Lidington: To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what the terms of reference are of his review of the targets for the processing of asylum support claims; when he will announce the conclusions of that review; and if he will make a statement. [159406] Mrs. Roche: [holding answer 27 April 2001]: The new target relating to decision times for asylum support applications can be found in the Home Office Business Plan for 2001-02 which was published on 2 April. The target is to reduce the average time taken to decide an application for asylum support by 20 per cent., by March 2002.
