Answer: Mr. Colman: To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport when he intends to open Robin Hood Gate into Richmond Park. [159692] Mr. Alan Howarth: Responsibility for the subject of this question has been delegated to the Royal Parks Agency under its Chief Executive, William Weston. I have asked him to arrange for a reply to be given. Letter from William Weston to Mr. Tony Colman, dated 30 April 2001: I have been asked by the Secretary of State to reply to your Parliamentary Question about reopening Robin Hood Gate in Richmond Park as this is an operational matter for which I am responsible. We intend to reopen Robin Hood Gate on Wednesday 9{th} May. We have been refurbishing the gate as part of a planned programme of refurbishment and took the opportunity to carry out the work while the park was closed to traffic. Unfortunately we were unable to complete the work before the park reopened.
