Question: To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Employment, if he will make a statement on the Government's planned approach to the United Nations International Labour Organisation meeting on bonded labour in June.

Answer: Mr. William Ross: To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Employment if he will make a statement on the Government's planned approach to the United Nations International Labour Organisation meeting on bonded labour in June. [158284] Ms Jowell: The Government fully support the ILO's Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work and its Follow-up. We actively encourage member states to fulfil their obligations and work towards ratifying and implementing the provisions of the Conventions covered by the Declaration which include the elimination of all forms of forced and compulsory labour, including bonded labour, the subject of the June Conference discussion.
