Mr. Cann: To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if his Department was informed of allegations about an incident involving Robert Thompson which took place on 16 January 1997; what action was taken; and if he will make a statement. [151045] Mr. Boateng: The alleged incident was first brought to our notice in The Sunday People newspaper on 11 February 2001. The High Court considered the allegation in the course of judicial review proceedings and concluded in its judgment on Friday 16 February that the allegation was without foundation.
