Question: Statement on when he anticipates the Food Standards Agency begin giving guidance on health and diet. - Publishing a draft Bill later this month.

Answer: Mr. Sheerman: To ask the Secretary of State for Health when he anticipates the Food Standards Agency will begin giving guidance on health and diet. [66575] Ms Jowell: We will be publishing a draft Bill for consultation later this month. If legislative time permits, we propose to introduce a revised Bill during the current Parliamentary session. If Parliament's assent is received quickly, we hope that the agency will begin work in 2000.
