Question: To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions, if he will list the applications submitted for section 56 grants since 1st January 1990, indicating in each case which were successful and how much was awarded. - Includes table.

[80096] Ms Glenda Jackson: Schemes accepted for section 56 grants after 1 January 1990 and the grant allocated or paid are as follows: _________________________________________________________________________________________________. £ million Ivanhoe Line 1.4 Midland Metro 40.0 Robin Hood Line 4.4 _________________________________________________________________________________________________. Grant payments for a number of other schemes started before 1 January 1990 and continued after that date. During this period, a number of authorities have developed potential section 56 schemes and have discussed these with officials in my Department. We do not keep a centralised record of all such discussions.
