To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, how many compensation claims, and at what financial cost, have been made against (a) Sussex Police and (b) the Metropolitan Police in each year since 1999. - Includes tables. (Holding answer 18 July 2002).

Information is compiled by forces according to their own management needs and is not therefore directly comparable.
