Question: To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, how many people were in receipt of incapacity benefit in (a) June 1997, (b) February 1999, (c) June 2001 and (d) May 2002; what the total cost of incapacity benefit payments was, and how many claimants were in receipt of incapacity benefit payments, in each year since 1997, broken down into payments of (a) short-term incapacity benefit at the lower rate, (b) short-term incapacity benefit at the higher rate and (c) long-term incapacity benefit. - Includes tables.
