Tim Loughton: To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, Local Government and the Regions, pursuant to the answer of 6 March 2002, Official Report, column 373W, on Shoreham Port Authority, for what period he is able to provide information about declined reappointments. [42965] Mr. Jamieson: Information is readily available for the past seven years. In this period we have declined to reappoint just one member of the Shoreham Port Authority board. This was an appointment arising in January 2002 and I would refer the hon. Member to the answer given to him on 11 February 2002, Official Report, column 24W. There have been no occasions when we have declined to confirm the appointment of nominated candidates.
