Number of students visas: Year Applied for Granted Refused 2000 125,139 99,559 20,105 2001-02 151,524 121,466 38,873 2002-03 181,905 128,144 52,520 _________________________________________________________________________________________________. The table above shows the number of student visas applied for, granted and refused at entry clearance posts world-wide each year since 2000. Since 2001, statistics have been collated by financial year (1 April to 31 March) rather than calendar year.
