Question: To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, on what research the choice of (a) dose, (b) timing, (c) formulation and (d) method of application of the herbicide used on GM maize in the farm scale evaluations was based.

Answer: Alan Simpson: To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs on what research the choice of (a) dose, (b) timing, (c) formulation and (d) method of application of the herbicide used on GM maize in the farm scale evaluations was based. [139804] Mr. Morley: Research and other information necessary to make these choices was determined by the company concerned. The specific use of the herbicide in the farm-scale evaluations was covered by an approval issued by the Pesticides Safety Directorate.
