Answer

Chris Grayling: To ask the Secretary of State for Health what additional functions the CSCI is to have under Clause 80 of the Health and Social Care (Community Health and Standards) Bill. [122929] Dr. Ladyman: The social care sector and the methods of delivery of local authority social services are constantly changing, with new initiatives emerging that might necessitate giving additional functions to the Commission for Social Care Inspection. Such additional functions cannot yet be identified and therefore cannot be dealt with on the face of the Bill itself or described here.
