Question: To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, if he will make a statement about his policy regarding the exemption of peacekeepers from possible referral to the International Criminal Court when the policy comes up for renewal at the Security Council.

Answer: Tony Worthington: To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement about his policy regarding the exemption of peacekeepers from possible referral to the International Criminal Court when the policy comes up for renewal at the Security Council. [111810] Mr. Rammell: Security Council Resolution 1422 is in force for a period of 12 months as from 12 July 2002. The Security Council has not yet embarked on discussion of what action to take upon the expiry of this Resolution, though I expect that it will do so within the next few weeks. SCR 1422 provides for its renewal for further 12-month periods.
