Mr. Flynn: To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how much was spent on (a) the surveillance operation and (b) the raid on the Back Beat Club in December 1998; how many police officers were involved; and what was the value and types of controlled drugs seized. [69311] Mr. Boateng: This is an operational matter for the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis. He tells me that a number of people have now been charged following this police operation. As the matter is now before the court, I cannot comment further at this stage on matters which may be material to the case.
