Question: To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, if the Government consulted the Association of Public Analysts about the proposed transfer of the duty to sample animal feeding stuffs for analysis for veterinary medicines from local authorities to the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain. - Inc ref to Medicated Feedingstuffs Regulations 1998.

Answer: Mr. Martyn Jones: To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if the Government consulted the Association of Public Analysts about the proposed transfer of the duty to sample animal feeding stuffs for analysis for veterinary medicines from local authorities to the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain. [77521] Mr. Rooker: Yes. A wide range of interests, including the Association of Public Analysts, was consulted by the Veterinary Medicines Directorate on 10 October 1997 about proposals for the Medicated Feedingstuffs Regulations 1998.
