Question: To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry, if she will make it her policy for companies to be required to produce annual corporate social responsibility reports in a consistent and comparable format.

Answer: Lynne Jones: To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if she will make it her policy for companies to be required to produce annual corporate social responsibility reports in a consistent and comparable format. [203565] Ms Hewitt: No. The Government encourage companies to report on their corporate social responsibility impacts and 145 of the FTSE 250 now report on aspects of their environmental and/or social performance. It is for companies themselves to decide the format and content of such reports which are relevant to their business.
