Denzil Davies: To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what his estimate is of the number of (a) full-time and (b) part-time employees in the United Kingdom in each of the last five available years. [198170] Mr. Timms: The information requested falls within the responsibility of the National Statistician, who has been asked to reply. Letter from Len Cook to Mr. Denzil Davies, dated 17 November 2004: As National Statistician, I have been asked to reply to your Parliamentary Question about employment. (198170) The attached table gives estimates of the number of full-time and part-time employees resident in the United Kingdom for the three months ending in August each year from 2000 to 2004. These estimates from the Labour Force Survey are, as with any sample survey, subject to sampling variability.
