Mr. Ben Chapman: To ask the Secretary of State for Transport if he will make a statement on road safety in Wirral South. [198938] Mr. Jamieson: The Government are committed to helping local highway authorities play their part in delivering the national casualty reduction targets by 2010. The local highway authority has invested £1.1 million in road safety initiatives in Wirral, including £150,000 on traffic signal improvements in Wirral South.
