Question: To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, what proportion of those with learning difficulties in the Province are registered with a general practitioner.

Answer: Mr. Peter Robinson: To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what proportion of those with learning difficulties in the Province are registered with a general practitioner. [194526] Angela Smith: Information on the proportion of those with learning difficulties in the Province registered with a general practitioner is not available centrally. Everyone who is resident in Northern Ireland has an equal right to register with a general practitioner. However, those with severe learning disabilities who require dedicated facilities and are resident within a hospital are not registered with a general practitioner as their needs are covered by the relevant Trust.
