Mr. Gordon Prentice: To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what guidance he has issued to police authorities and chief constables regarding the type of uniform to be worn in the presence of royalty. [178254] Ms Blears: The Home Secretary has not issued guidance on the type of uniform to be worn in the presence of Royalty. The wearing of police uniforms is an operational matter, and is a decision for Chief Officers.
