- To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, how many pensioners in Warrington North are receiving the winter fuel allowance; and how many of those in receipt of the allowance qualify for the higher rate of allowance payable to the over 80s.

Helen Jones: To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions how many pensioners in Warrington North are receiving the winter fuel allowance; and how many of those in receipt of the allowance qualify for the higher rate of allowance payable to the over 80s. [176408] Malcolm Wicks: For winter 2003-04 17,230 pensioners in the Warrington North constituency received Winter Fuel Payments. Of those 3,105 were aged 80 or over and have received the higher rate.
