To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, what discussions he has had with (a) Invest Northern Ireland and (b) NORTEL Northern Ireland on the future of Solectron Carrickfergus.

Mr. Beggs: To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what discussions he has had with (a) Invest Northern Ireland and (b) NORTEL Northern Ireland on the future of Solectron Carrickfergus. [151002] Mr. Pearson: I have discussed the future of Solectron with Invest NI. In addition in November 2003, I met with senior Nortel executives in Montreal and Ottawa, Canada, to discuss future business issues. I also met Nortel's Northern Ireland Management on 2 February 2004. Invest NI continues to maintain contact with senior Solectron executives in Europe and the United States.
