- What reply HMG have received to representations made by British High Commissioner in Lilongwe concerning circumstances in which Orton & Vera Chirwa are detained, with particular reference to reported use of leg irons on Mr Chirwa; lack of medical care afforded to them; poor quality of food given & denial of family visits & if no satisfactory reply has been received, whether they will suspend all aid to Malawi. - Inc ref to 532 c65WA.
