- What steps are taken to ensure compliance with law dealing with the scale of private opencast coal operations laid down in section 36 of Coal Industry Nationalisation Act 1946; if there are any plans to seek to amend current legal limit on the scale of such operations in light of evidence given by Sir Robert Haslam to Select Committee on Energy on British Coal's practice as regards interpretation of current rules - Incl ref to 122 c1362
